Taylor Swift has shown once again that she does not hold a grudge against her ex-partners and that she is capable of maintaining a good friendship with them. The artist surprised her fans by taking her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, the star of the 'Twilight' saga, on stage during her concert at the Arrowhead stadium in Kansas City, as part of her tour 'The Eras Tour'.
The reason for the actor's appearance was to present, together with Swift and two other collaborators, Joey King and Presley Cash, the new video clip for the song 'I Can See You (Taylor's Version)', which is part of the album 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)', released the same day. The music video, which premiered exclusively to concertgoers, sees the three actors acting out a story of love and heartbreak inspired by Swift's own experience with Lautner.
The actor made a spectacular entrance onto the stage, performing a somersault and a backflip as he came down the ramp. Swift welcomed her with a hug and thanked her for her support during the creation of the 'Speak Now' album, which includes the song 'Back To December', written by the singer as an apology to Lautner for their breakup.
"He was such a positive force in my life when I was making the 'Speak Now' album, and I mean he did every single stunt you see in that music video," Swift said. "He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it's really convenient because we all share the same first name."
Lautner, for his part, expressed his respect and admiration for Swift as an artist and as a person. “I respect you so much, not just for the singer that you are, the songwriter, the performer, but really for the human being that you are,” he said. "You are gentle, humble, kind and I am honored to meet you."
Fans went crazy to see the actor on the show and did not hesitate to share his excitement on social media, recalling the brief romance the two Taylors had 14 years ago. The two met on the set of the movie 'Valentine's Day' and dated for a few months in 2009, but broke up in December of that year. Despite this, both maintained a good relationship and never spoke ill of each other.
Swift has shown on several occasions that she has no problem reuniting with her ex-partners and collaborating with them professionally. In addition to Lautner, the singer has invited other ex-boyfriends to her tour such as Joe Jonas, John Mayer and Harry Styles, with whom she has shared the stage and she has even sung some of the songs that she dedicated to them after the breakups she.
Swift's 'The Eras Tour' is a review of her entire musical career, from her beginnings as a country star to her consolidation as a pop icon. The artist has taken the opportunity to re-record her first six albums under her own record label, after losing the rights to her original recordings due to a legal dispute with her former producer. With this initiative, Swift seeks to regain creative and financial control of her work and offer her fans enhanced and expanded versions of her most successful songs.
