The Barbie movie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has been a box office success since its premiere on July 20, 2023. The film has captivated adults and children alike with its story of love, adventure, and humor, and has generated great demand for franchise-related products.

Among the most popular characters in the film is Weird Barbie, played by actress and comedian Kate McKinnon. She is a fair-skinned, blue-eyed blonde doll with short, unkempt hair. This Barbie has various colored drawings on her face and clothes that don't match. Her attire is a bright pink spotted bodysuit and green and black reptilian boots.

Rarita Barbie represents the dolls “intervened” by the girls in the film, who personalize them to their liking and make them unique. The doll symbolizes diversity, creativity and freedom of expression, values that the film also promotes.

Given the furor that this character has caused, Mattel has decided to launch a limited edition of the Rarita Barbie, which will be available only by online order from August 4 to 18, 2023. The doll can be purchased on the Mattel website Creations, and costs $50.

In addition to the toy, the buyer will receive a certificate of authenticity, a stand, and a Barbie The Movie collectible packaging. The company has announced that only 10,000 units of the Barbie Rarita will be manufactured, so they are expected to run out quickly.

Mattel's initiative has generated expectation and enthusiasm among Barbie fans, who see in this doll an opportunity to have a souvenir from the movie and a unique piece for their collection. The Rarita Barbie thus joins other special versions of the doll inspired by the characters of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, which can also be purchased on the Mattel Creations website.
