Joe Biden advocates conciliation in his inauguration speech

A summary of the new president's speech is "unity", "democracy" and "challenge".

In his speech, Biden insisted on the word "unity." Unlike the other two former presidents - Barack Obama and Donald Trump - who barely spoke of unity, the new US president repeated the word more than a dozen times.

The speech was brief, unemotional, gray, and left many issues out: climate change, measures to face the pandemic (without mentioning the mask), and the economic crisis. Although the challenges facing the country are so many that they do not fit in Biden's speech and he wanted it to be a speech that sends a message of "tranquility to citizens."
